Dr. Hae Sun Back, Therapeutic Optometrist Joins Our Practice

Hae Sun Back, O.D.Dr. Hae Sun Back is a New Jersey board certified Therapeutic Optometrist. She graduated from Rutgers College, the State University of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences, and received a Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She received clinical honors evaluations throughout her four externships, which included training in contact lenses and ocular pathology. She is also a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. Dr. Back visited five different villages in Tulcan, Ecuador in January 2008 for one week with E3 Partners, a Christian missions group.  The medical mission team brought over glasses and sunglasses, most of them donated from the Lions Club.  In total, the mission saw 682 patients and distributed over 1000 glasses.

In addition, many patients were treated for dry eye  syndrome with donated artificial tears. “I am so thankful I had the opportunity to go and will gladly go again!  I want to be able to use optometry to help underprivileged populations.” Dr. Back has also done glaucoma and pediatric eye screenings at St. Joseph Korean Catholic Church in Demarest. Dr. Back’s experience includes an externship at the Lyons Veterans Administration Medical Center of New Jersey, Ocean Eye Institute in Toms River, and Vision Consultants in Stamford, Connecticut. She also served an optometric internship at The Eye Institute Pediatric and Binocular Vision Clinic, where she received an award for Clinical Excellence.  Comprehensive eye examinations and fitting of contact lenses are among Dr. Back’s responsibilities for the patients of Eye Care Associates of New Jersey.

Soft Multifocal Contact Lenses Just Got Better...

Soft Multifocal Contact LensesAre you a soft contact lens wearer who is now experiencing some trouble reading up close? Are you wondering whether you will be able to see both far and near through contact lenses ever again? You may be a candidate for soft multifocal contact lenses.  The latest in this technology is Bausch & Lomb's PureVision™ Multifocal Lens.  This lens is the only multifocal available made of silicone hydrogel material. This material allows more oxygen than older hydrogel materials and is therefore more breathable and healthier for the eyes. It features a visibility tint and a patented rounded-edge design to help reduce lens awareness and increase comfort. In addition, PureVision™ contact lenses are designed with enhanced aspheric optics to provide crisper vision than spherical lenses. Many patients are trying contacts to achieve good vision for distance, intermediate and near. You can be one of them!
