Robert Schwarcz, M.D.

Dr. Robert Schwarcz is a highly skilled facial and ocular plastic surgeon who joined Eye Care Associates of New Jersey in March 2008.  His areas of expertise include both cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid surgery, face and neck lifting, rhinoplasty, endoscopic brow lifts, midfacelifts, facial implants, repair of blocked tear ducts, face and eyelid tumor excision and post Mohs reconstruction, facial trauma surgery as well as the most new advances in minimally invasive facial cosmetic surgery, Botox and Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse, and other facial fillers including fat transfer. 

Dr. Schwarcz attended the City University of New York seven-year combined BS/MD program at Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education and received his MD degree at Howard University.  After his ophthalmology residency at SUNY Downstate, he completed a fellowship in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery at UCLA’s Jules Stein Eye Institute (US News and World report top 4 in the country).  An additional two-year fellowship training in Beverly Hills, CA specializing in Facial Cosmetic Surgery with one of the top Facial Plastic surgeons of the country furthered his training.  He is board certified, a diplomat of by both the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Board of Ophthalmology.  He is one of only 500 surgeons to be certified by the American Society of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

He has over 30 published medical articles and textbook chapters in his field of plastic surgery and continues to lecture internationally.  He was featured on Larry King Live for his role in the total reconstruction of the face of a girl mauled by a mountain lion.  Dr. Schwarcz regularly participates in medical mission trips abroad; most recently, he performed cleft lip and palate surgery as well as procedures correcting other facial deformities on children in Guatemala.  

Dr. Schwarcz enjoys spending time with his wife Dr. Monica Dorin Schwarcz, an Endocrinologist, and their daughter Lily.  He is an avid traveler, mountain biker, and practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
