ECANJ Expands To Meet The Needs Of Our Patients
Eye Care Associates of NJ recently expanded its office at One Broadway in Elmwood Park. We renovated a adjacent office and the con-struction was completed in mid March. This new space enables us to take care of our patients in a comfortable setting while using cuttingedge technology. This additional space will hold our diag-nostic testing equipment as well as two additional exam rooms. One of our new features is a technician screening room that has the new Epic Refracting System by Marco the leader in vision diagnostics®. We now have a room dedicated to our presurgical measurements and counseling. This will allow for a smoother and more time efficient pre-surgical experience. We have added a new area so that patients may sit comfortably while their eyes dilate. While many lontime patients still ask ab the fish tank in our old office, it will not be making an encore. Instead, we have "Eyemaginations" in this area. This impressive video feed encompasses a wide variety of topics in ophthalmology and eyewear. Patients can also learn more about the services and procedures we offer. This informative program may also be viewed in the front reception area. The remaining changes are designed to improve our efficiency. We have increased the number of patient screening rooms and testing equipment rooms. We also now have a separate room dedicated to contact lens instruction.
Cutting-Edge Technology Offered At ECANJ
The Epic Refracting System by Marco will streamline our operations and provide state-of-the-art technology. This user-and patient-friendly system provides many advantages to give you the best possible eye care. This system guides us as we measure your eyeglasses prescription. With computerized precision and speed, we can quickly calculate your prescription. The Epic System allows patients to sit comfortably and is also wheelchair accessible.
We have also recently acquired a specular microscope. This machine helps detect certain diseases earlier, such as corneal swelling, as well as more accurately monitor the patient as certain diseases progress. Dr. Friend is also using this test to screen patients before cataract surgery to uncover any hidden risks of surgery. We look forward to introducing you to our new and improved office soon.
