Vision Correction Surgery… the future is now with the ReSTOR® lens

This year alone, millions of patients will choose to have their vision and their life styles changed forever.  A cataract can be the reason sharp images are blurred, bright colors are dull, or seeing at night is more difficult.  If may also be why your glasses no longer seem to help with your daily activities.  Intraocular lens (IOL) technology has taken a gigantic leap forward.  Today, the goal is to enhance your vision with an IOL that may provide you with full range of vision, thus minimizing yourdependence on glasses, including reading glasses or bifocals.  The AcrySof® ReSTOR ® IOL is available and delivers a high level of glasses-free vision allowing patients to see clearly at all distances.

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) with the ReSTOR ® IOL is available to patients as an alternative procedure to laser vision correction surgery. The primary difference between cataract surgery and RLE is that cataract surgery removes a patient’s cloudy lens and RLE is performed to reduce one’s dependence on glasses or contact lenses.  RLE may be the procedure of choice for patients who are too nearsighted, too farsighted or have corneas that are too thin for laser vision correction.  It may also be a viable alternative for those over age 45 who wish to eliminate their dependence on
bifocals or reading glasses.   Dr. Adam Friend specializes in cataract and corneal surgery.  We offer complimentary screening for patients who wish to explore their options for vision correction surgery.
