For the last 34 years, Harvey has been one of the leading ophthalmologists in northern New Jersey. His devotion to his profession as well as his patients has given him a very loyal following. His amazing memory serves him well whether he is diagnosing an obscure condition or remembering personal details about his patients.Harvey recieved his medical degree from Downstate Medical Center after doing his undergraduate studies at Tufts University. After completing his internship at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center, he did his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital. Harvey spent two years in the U.S. Army before joining Dr. Victor J. Weil in practice in 1973. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Currently, Harvey is on the staff at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital (where he taught residents at the Contact Lens Clinic for many years). He is the former chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Barnert Hospital in Paterson. He is also the former medical director at the Bergen-Passaic Eye Surgery & Laser Center. He is a member of the American Medical Association and has received their Continuing Medical Education Physician’s Recognition Award since 1973. Harvey is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Medical Society of the State of New Jersey, Passaic County Medical Society and the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology.
Harvey and his wife have three children and two grandchildren. When not spending time with his family, enjoys singing with the University Glee Club of New York City.
